Hippie Love

Hello My Lovelies!

I am writing this post from my bed, with the A.C. on wishing I was somewhere else for the moment… that somewhere just happens to be COACHELLA !

I have aimlessly sat for the past couple of years watching my news feed get filled with all the awesomeness that happens at Coachella ! But more than just the music, it’s the fashion that really appeals to me. All those people decked out in the best boho outfits out there! So, this year I thought that I am gonna get up and create some of my own Coachella looks, even if I can’t attend Coachella.

So, this is gonna be a two-part series. This post is going to be the first part featuring this look. The next post in this series will be followed shortly and will feature another Coachella inspired look!

For this look I took a black crocheted dress, I paired black bralette and a pair of black shorts underneath it to give me some coverage. I then propped my wide brim black hat on and I was almost Coachella ready…

Necklace / Body Chain ~ New Look

Rings & Bracelet ~ Pipa Bella

….what completed this look were the accessories and makeup. For accessorizing I wore this heavy tribal necklace-body chain which instantly upped the oomph in this look! Next, I stacked a couple of ring on my fingers and wore a bracelet cuff to complete this look.

For my makeup, I wanted to keep it simple so I did my base makeup (foundation, concealer, powder) put on a blush, lined my upper eyelids with a black liquid liner, added two coats of mascara to my lashes and then did a slightly dark red lip.

So, that’s it for this look, part two will follow shortly!

Boho Chic

Hello My Lovelies!

This is the second part of the two-part series on Coachella style!

I believe that grooming is something that can really make or break a look. So, in this second part of Coachella style, I am gonna be talking about grooming.
IMG_0108 (2)

In this look for my hair I decided to do a half up half down hairdo. I gathered some hair from the crown of my head and and made a a little bun on top of my head and left the rest of my hair down.

As for my makeup, I applied BB cream and concealer to my face, I set this base up with loose setting powder. Then, I filled in the sparse spaces of my brows with brow powder and combed it through, so that it looks natural. I applied a peach tone blush to my cheeks.

I applied black liquid liner on my upper eye lid. Next, I applied two coats of mascara to my lashes. I finished my eyes by wearing false eyelashes.

I wore a vampy red lip to complete this look!

As for my outfit, I am wearing a white crochet dress underneath it I am wearing white shorts a white bralette. I accessorized this look by stacking some rings on my fingers and stacking 2 statement making necklace together and I am Coachella ready!

This is it for my two part Coachella series! I hope you liked it!

OOTD ~ Wild Elegance

Hello My Lovelies! How are you guys? I know I have been missing in action for a couple of weeks but I am back with a new outfit of the day post!

~ Check out the look below ~

For this look I paired a grey high-low dress with an animal printed blazer. I cinched the animal printed blazer in the waist with a sleek black belt. I threw on a pair of nude strap-y heels to complete the look.

IMG_4309 I love how this high low dress added an unexpected dash of femininity to this look.

For my makeup, I decided to keep it simple and did a normal base makeup (moisturizer, primer, bb cream, setting powder), for my eyes I applied 2 coats of mascara to my upper and lower lashes. On my cheeks I applied a peach-y toned blush. I completed my makeup by sporting a plum-y pink lipstick.

Dress ~ Forever 21

Belt ~ River Island

Jacket & Shoes ~ Zara

IMG_4360 My cutie pooch Tiger also decided to make an appearance for this photo shoot. What can I say? Photogenic / Camera-Ready people run in my family! 😛 IMG_4335

OOTD: Hello Summer!

Hello My Lovelies!

Summer is here! And boy is it hot out there! I know that because for the past 1 month I was commuting to and fro in this hot as hell weather from my home to the examination center and back again!

Speaking of examination center, I just completed my final exams for this semester! Woohoo! Although it doesn’t really feel “woohoo”. In real sense it feels more like, “Yeah done. Now can I please just go curl up on my bed and eat, sleep, watch tv, read romance novels and just go back to being a normal procrastinator again?!”

IMG_4288-001 IMG_4274

Anywho, with the exams and the heat, I just needed a little pick-me-up to keep my spirits high to momentarily distract myself from everything that was going around me.

It all started with this hat (pictured in the photos) that my mother had bought one day. I really liked the hat and I wanted to do a whole look around it.

So for this look, I paired this gorgeous floral print skirt with this cute white crop top, then I wore my white gladiator wedges to match my white crop top. I then completed this look by throwing on this hat (that I have been wearing non-stop lately) to complete this look.

Something really weird happened when we were shooting this look. We were shooting this look at my place and while we were shooting, mid-shoot I realized that some guy from my neighbors balcony had his phone out and was looking directly at me.

(Oh-hey! Is that person trying to click my picture from his balcony?!)

(Yeah Buddy, I see you clicking my picture. Mood = Pissed!)

I tried to ignore it at first, but then I realized that he was trying to click my picture from his cell phone! GASP! I was so pissed! Fortunately my mum saw that guy taking the pictures and made a big hue and cry! Long story short, the guy was yelled at so bad by my Angry Mother!

(How to deal with unwanted attention/random guy trying to click your pic? Send an angry Punjabi Mother to deal with said guy!)

Okay, enough talk about random peeping toms! Here’s a closer shot of makeup. I tried to keep my main focus on my cheeks and lips. I decided to go for really peach-y/pink looking cheeks and a bright pink lip (Mac Impassioned lipstick).

I hope you liked this look! 🙂

How to Dress Like Jess from New Girl?

Dress Like Jess!

Hello My Lovelies!

As you might have guessed from the the title, this post is about how you can dress like Jess Day from the TV show New Girl!

New Girl is a show which follows the live of Jess (played by the lovely Zooey Deschanel) a 20 something girl, who after a bad breakup with her boyfriend, ends up living in an apartment with 4 (earlier 3) male roommates after answering a “roommate wanted” ad on Craigslist!

The show follows Jess’ hilarious adventures of being the “New Girl” in an apartment full of men! It’s a funny show, with an equally lovable cast (Schmidt and Cece! Coach and Winston! and Nick! Come on these guys are so cute!)

Jess Day’s Style Diary

1. Bright Colors Are Your Friends!

Jess has a very peppy almost 1950’s inspired wardrobe filled with bright, happy, in-your-face colors (reds, blues, greens, yellows… you name it and the girl has got it)! So, if you wanna dress like Jess then you really need to stop shying away from bright colors! 🙂

2. Be a Pattern Lover / Embracer

Apart from being a girl who loves wearing bright colors, Jess has a penchant for sporting patterns! Stripes, Polka dots the girl has almost tried them all!

3. Cardigan and Ballet Flats are your Bae!

Jess LOVES wearing cardigans and ballet flats! She loves pairing cardigans with dresses and skirts. Same is her love affair with her ballet flats. I think Jess has Cardigans and Ballet Flats in almost every color imaginable!

4. Nerdy McPretty!

Jess is always seen rocking her cute, nerdy, adorkable pair of glasses with almost all of her looks on the show. If you wanna really nail Jess’s look then go rock a pair of faux glasses.

5. Retro Much

Yeah Jess, kinda has a knack for incorporating a healthy dose of retro vibes in her outfit, be it the bright colors, the bows, the polka dots, the belts, the hairbands! The girl has RETRO written all over her! Example: You can pair shorter fluffier skirt with ballet flats and a cute top + cardigan, or a nice pair of fitted high waist jeans with a feminine top, completed with a headband

7. Tights / Leggings

Another thing Jess loves to do is layer her clothes! She is often times seen rocking a dress with a pair of tights or a pair of shorts over a pair of stockings! Don’t be afraid to layer!

~Looks Inspired By Jess Day~

Jess Day Outfit Inspiration 1

(From left to right : Dress, Cardigan, Shoes)

For this look pair this bright print dress with a blue/mint color cardigan for an added wow factor and as a cool way to color block with your outfit. Jess is often seen rocking her dresses with cardigans, and her cardigans are often times bold and bright in color. Complete this look by throwing on these comfy white ballet flats to complete the look.

(From left to right: Dress, Shoes, Bow Barrette)

While Jess is often seen rocking bright, bold colors, the few times that she has rocked something neutral, she’s done it well! To channel Jess’s “NEUTRAL” look wear this gorgeous white dress with a Peter Pan collar with these black and white peep toe flats. Complete the look by wearing a bow barrette in your hair!

Jess Day Inspired Outfit 3

(From left to right : Cardigan,Top, Skirt)

As previously mentioned, Jess loves polka dots and she also loves cardigans! This look is a nod to just that! Pair a white feminine blouse with a polka dot skirt. To really get a “Jess vibe” in your look throw on a red cardigan to complete this look!

Well that’s it for now!

What should I wear…to work?!

Hello My Lovelies!

Do you often find yourself lacking inspiration when it comes to work wear? Are you afraid to leave the tried and tested formula of shirts and trousers? Are you itching to experiment with your work clothes?

If you answered “YES” to any of the above questions then this is THE POST for you!

~ Below I have created 4 work wear looks, hope you get inspired! ~

(From left to right ~ dress, bracelet, shoes)

The first look is modern, simple and sophisticated! For this look pair a simple black knee/or slightly above the knee length dress.

The dress should NOT have any frills/sequins/cut-outs! When it comes to work wear avoid the aforementioned styles. Next, throw in a watch or a simple bracelet to accessorize.

Complete the look by pairing it with black strappy heels!

(From left to right ~ blouse, skirt, shoes)

I used to shy away from pencil skirts! Never bought them! Never tried them! Then one day I bit the bullet and tried the pencil skirt..

… You know you have those moments in your life when you realize that your mother was right? Yeah, I hate those moments.

I could hear her voice in my head saying, “How do you know you don’t like it? You haven’t even tried it yet!” Granted this dialogue was almost always used by her in relation to food, but you get the point.

For this look, I paired this gorgeous pencil skirt, with this pretty, feminine, gray blouse. You can complete this look by pairing it with nude pumps!

(From left to right ~ trouser, blouse, sandals)

Yeah, I know what I said in the beginning about the whole tried and tested shirt and trouser thing, but, look how pretty the look is! I couldn’t help myself!

For this look, pair this gorgeous white blouse ~ with crocheted black collar, with high waist black pants and complete the look by wearing these cool and comfy sandals with a an edgy metal detail!

(From left to right ~ dress, jacket, booties)

This last look is not for the faint hearted! But, if you do wear this look you sure are gonna be one fierce mama!

For this look I paired this gorgeous royal/cobalt blue dress with a gray-ish collar-less jacket and I completed the look by pairing it with these killer, edgy white booties with a pointy heel!

~ I hope this helped you get inspired to try some new work wear looks! ~

How to dress like Sofia Vergara’s Gloria Pritchett from Modern Family?

Hello My Lovelies!

Today’s How to dress like post is about… Sofia Vergara’s character Gloria Pritchett on Modern Family! I love Sofia as Gloria on Modern Family. She is funny, she stands up for herself and her loved ones and she loves high heels!

~Here are some of the looks I put together inspired by Sofia’s character Gloria Pritchett~

(From left to right : dress, necklace, shoes)

Gloria is often seen wearing figure hugging clothes which accentuate her assets, so in this look I chose a nice black bodycon LBD (Little Black Dress), you can accessorize this with this gorgeous rhinestone flower statement necklace and throw in Gloria’s favorite high heels to finish the look!

This is a perfect night out look!

(From Left to Right : top, jeans, shoes, necklace)

The standard everyday uniform for Gloria Pritchett is often a figure hugging, deep neck top over a pear of fitted dark wash skinny jeans with high heels!

For this look I paired this gorgeous peplum top with these skinny jeans. You can accessorize with this beautiful statement necklace, which is also a Gloria Pritchett staple! She loves throwing in statement necklaces to accessorize most of her looks!

Finally, I completed the look by pairing it with these nautical wedges! This is a great day look!

(From left to right : top, skirt, shoes, bracelet)

Gloria is very bold and daring with her choice of clothing. She also loves pencil skirts and animal prints!

So, in this look I paired a animal print pencil skirt with a black button down blouse. You can accessorize this look with this really dainty bracelet and complete the whole look with these gorgeous grey pumps!

Gloria Pritchett played by Sofia Vergara is an awesome character and it was really fun making looks inspired by her!

Well, that’s it for now!
