~Here’s a breakdown of this look~

On My Face

1. Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer ~ Honey (I used this concealer under my eye, on the top of my nose, on the top of my forehead and on my chin, then I blended it all out using my fingers)

2. Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation (After applying concealer, I proceeded to apply foundation on my face and on my neck)

3. Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush ~ Creamy Cinnamon (Next, I used the blush on the apples of my cheeks and on the top of my nose)

On My Eyes

1. The Face Shop Design My Eyebrow retractable pen ~ (For my eye makeup I started with my brows, I used this eyebrow pencil to fill in any minor gaps in my eyebrows)

2. Sleek i-divine palette in “BAD GIRL” ~ (For eye shadow, I used the shade “INTOXICATED” marked as 1. in the above picture all over my eyelid.

Next, I blended the eye shadow using another eye shadow “ENVY” marked as 2. in the above photo and blended it with the first eye shadow near my crease.

Lastly, I used the shade “GULLIBLE” marked as 3. in the above photo in the inner corner of my eyes to make my eyes look more awake!)

3. Lakme Absolute Shine Line Eyeliner ~ (Next, I used this black liquid liner to line my upper lash line)

4. Maybelline Falsies Washable Mascara ~ (Lastly, I used 2 coats of this mascara on my lashes)

On My Lips

I used Maybelline 14 hour Superstay lipstick in ~ Non Stop Red ~ to complete the look

What should I wear…to work?!

Hello My Lovelies!

Do you often find yourself lacking inspiration when it comes to work wear? Are you afraid to leave the tried and tested formula of shirts and trousers? Are you itching to experiment with your work clothes?

If you answered “YES” to any of the above questions then this is THE POST for you!

~ Below I have created 4 work wear looks, hope you get inspired! ~

(From left to right ~ dress, bracelet, shoes)

The first look is modern, simple and sophisticated! For this look pair a simple black knee/or slightly above the knee length dress.

The dress should NOT have any frills/sequins/cut-outs! When it comes to work wear avoid the aforementioned styles. Next, throw in a watch or a simple bracelet to accessorize.

Complete the look by pairing it with black strappy heels!

(From left to right ~ blouse, skirt, shoes)

I used to shy away from pencil skirts! Never bought them! Never tried them! Then one day I bit the bullet and tried the pencil skirt..

… You know you have those moments in your life when you realize that your mother was right? Yeah, I hate those moments.

I could hear her voice in my head saying, “How do you know you don’t like it? You haven’t even tried it yet!” Granted this dialogue was almost always used by her in relation to food, but you get the point.

For this look, I paired this gorgeous pencil skirt, with this pretty, feminine, gray blouse. You can complete this look by pairing it with nude pumps!

(From left to right ~ trouser, blouse, sandals)

Yeah, I know what I said in the beginning about the whole tried and tested shirt and trouser thing, but, look how pretty the look is! I couldn’t help myself!

For this look, pair this gorgeous white blouse ~ with crocheted black collar, with high waist black pants and complete the look by wearing these cool and comfy sandals with a an edgy metal detail!

(From left to right ~ dress, jacket, booties)

This last look is not for the faint hearted! But, if you do wear this look you sure are gonna be one fierce mama!

For this look I paired this gorgeous royal/cobalt blue dress with a gray-ish collar-less jacket and I completed the look by pairing it with these killer, edgy white booties with a pointy heel!

~ I hope this helped you get inspired to try some new work wear looks! ~

Smokey Eye + Nude Lip FOTD!

Hello My Lovelies!

Firstly, Happy Republic Day to all my fellow Indians! Did any of you watch the parade today?

Moving on to… Smokey Eyes and Nude Lips! I don’t know what the reason is… but I find myself fiddling around with my makeup itching to create looks more than usual! The result of my fiddling? This FOTD!

In today’s post I put my own spin to the Smokey Eye and Nude Lip trend by using royal blues and vibrant purples for my smokey eye!

IMG_2758-001IMG_2762-001IMG_2768-001IMG_2771-001~ For this look I used ~

On my face :-

1. Lakme Absolute White Intense Skin Cover Foundation (this can get a bit patchy on my dry skin, so I made sure I moisturized my skin really well before I applied this to my face)

2. Chambor Silver Shadow Compact (this is my go-to compact for setting my foundation! This powder sets the foundation without making my face looking dry or flaky)

3. Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush ~ Peachie Sweetie (I used this blush lightly on the apples of my cheeks, up to my temples and a tad bit on my nose)

On my eyes :-

1. Face Shop Design My Eyebrow Retractable Pencil (I used this pencil to fill in little tiny gaps in my eyebrows and to make it look fuller)

2. Sleek i-divine Eye Shadow Palette ~ Bad Girl (next I moved on to the smokey-eye part of this look and used the shade “obnoxious”, which is marked as 1 in the above picture, all over the socket of my eye underneath the crease line. I applied this shade quite heavily, then I used a buffing brush to smoke this eye shadow out on to my crease line and a little beyond.)

(Next, I used the eye shadow “twilight”, marked as 2 in the above picture, on the inner 1/3rd corner of my eye and I used the same to line my lower lash line. I used my buffing brush to blend the two eye shadows together on my upper lid and I used the buffing brush to smoke out the eye shadow “twilight” on my lower lash line)

(Last, eye shadow that I used was “gullible” , marked as 3 in the above photo, on the inner corners/tear ducts  of my eyes to brighten my eyes and make then appear more awake)

3. Maybelline the Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara (I swiped on 2 coats of mascara on my lashes)

On My Lips :-

Street Wear Ultra Moist Lipstick ~ Crisp Caramel (finally, I finished this look by applying my new favorite nude lipstick!)

Hope you liked this look!

How to dress like Sofia Vergara’s Gloria Pritchett from Modern Family?

Hello My Lovelies!

Today’s How to dress like post is about… Sofia Vergara’s character Gloria Pritchett on Modern Family! I love Sofia as Gloria on Modern Family. She is funny, she stands up for herself and her loved ones and she loves high heels!

~Here are some of the looks I put together inspired by Sofia’s character Gloria Pritchett~

(From left to right : dress, necklace, shoes)

Gloria is often seen wearing figure hugging clothes which accentuate her assets, so in this look I chose a nice black bodycon LBD (Little Black Dress), you can accessorize this with this gorgeous rhinestone flower statement necklace and throw in Gloria’s favorite high heels to finish the look!

This is a perfect night out look!

(From Left to Right : top, jeans, shoes, necklace)

The standard everyday uniform for Gloria Pritchett is often a figure hugging, deep neck top over a pear of fitted dark wash skinny jeans with high heels!

For this look I paired this gorgeous peplum top with these skinny jeans. You can accessorize with this beautiful statement necklace, which is also a Gloria Pritchett staple! She loves throwing in statement necklaces to accessorize most of her looks!

Finally, I completed the look by pairing it with these nautical wedges! This is a great day look!

(From left to right : top, skirt, shoes, bracelet)

Gloria is very bold and daring with her choice of clothing. She also loves pencil skirts and animal prints!

So, in this look I paired a animal print pencil skirt with a black button down blouse. You can accessorize this look with this really dainty bracelet and complete the whole look with these gorgeous grey pumps!

Gloria Pritchett played by Sofia Vergara is an awesome character and it was really fun making looks inspired by her!

Well, that’s it for now!

Best BB Creams in India!

Hello My Lovelies!

For the past couple of months I found myself getting sucked into the world of BB creams! Whenever I spotted a new BB cream I used to get a “ding!” in my head followed by, “gotta have that!”

Now, after having tried my share of BB Creams I have come to the conclusion that there are 3 BB Creams that clearly stand out than the rest in terms of quality, coverage, longevity and texture!

1. Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector

2. Colorbar Perfect Match BB Cream

3. Pond’s White Beauty All in One BB + Fairness Cream

(A little info ~ Normally my skin tone is NC 30 but due to tanning and other little skin issues I fluctuate between NC 30 and NC 35)

1. Colorbar Perfect Match BB Cream

Price ~ Rs. 550 for 29 gm

Shades Available ~ 3 (Vanilla Creme, Honey Glaze & Cinnamon Swirl)

Where to Buy ~ Here!

Colorbar Perfect Match Beauty Balm in Vanilla Creme is one BB cream that was really hard to find! I searched online then I searched at Shoppers’ Stop but, alas, I couldn’t find the shade ” vanilla creme “ anywhere! Then finally one day I chanced upon a NewU store and lo and behold they had the Colorbar Perfect Match BB Cream in Vanilla Creme! Ha! I metaphorically wept with tears of joy!

Coming to the BB cream the texture of the BB cream is a little like a mousse/cream combo. This BB cream really makes my skin glow and look radiant! It last easily for upto 4-5 hours on my skin.

The only little minor bump that I have experienced with this BB cream is that since I have dry skin it has a tendency to look a tad patchy on my skin.

My Rating ~ 3/5

2. Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector

Price ~ Rs. 99 for 18 gm and Rs. 199 for 40 gm

Shades Available ~ 1

Where to Buy ~ Here!

Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector ~ Okay, I’ll be honest, I didn’t have very (read : any) high hopes with this BB cream! And I say this only because I didn’t really have a good experience in the past with Garnier products. But, oh boy! This BB cream knocked it out of the park and then some!

Garnier BB cream does not have either too runny or too thick texture and it doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin. It is quite emollient and blends like a dream! It gives me great coverage and really evens out my skin tone making it look presentable! It wears for about 4-5 hours on me.

It is a great everyday BB cream, and it gives a soft glow to my face!

The only drawback is that it only comes in one shade, so dusky beauties might find it too ashy and pale skinned beauties might find it too dark!

My Rating ~ 3.5/5

3. Pond’s White Beauty All in One BB + Fairness Cream

Price ~ Rs.69 for 6 gm, Rs. 125 for 18 gm and Rs. 325 for 50 gm

Shades Available ~ 1

Where to Buy ~ Here!

Pond’s White Beauty BB + Fairness Cream ~ Wow! That name is a mouthful! Phew! First things first, I LOVE THIS BB CREAM! I cannot rave enough about it! This has been to-date my most used/ most loved BB cream, this was my core everyday base makeup product this past summer!

This BB cream gives me excellent coverage! It is almost like a medium coverage foundation. This BB cream really even out and brightens my skin tone and makes me look radiant!

Since, I have really dry skin I really need to moisturize my skin before I use this BB cream. This BB cream lasts around 9-10 hours on me, so it is really long wearing.

Only con is that it comes in one shade, which is suitable for medium skin toned people which is a bummer since it is really an awesome product!

My Rating ~ 4.5/5

Street Wear Color Rich Lipsticks! Swatches + Review!

Hello My Lovelies!

This review has been a long time coming! I love lipsticks! I feel that they are a fantastic way to add some color to the face.

When it comes to trying on lipsticks from brands which I am not that familiar with and/or haven’t used before, I feel a tad bit skeptical. I am not a snob in any way but a tad bit discerning.

So, when I heard that the Street Wear lipsticks were making a splash, I decided I had to get my hands on some to know what all the hoopla was about!

So, I made my way to the nearest NewU store and asked the SA if they had some in stock ad luckily they did!

I wish I can describe to you the exact moment the SA turned towards me, with a box of THE MOST RADEST, AWESOMEST looking lipsticks ever!

I fell in love with the pop art/comic strip inspired packaging! I decided that i needed them in my love even if it was just for the packaging and for Rs.180 bucks a pop, it was a steal!

So, I bought 5 shades ~ Fire Your Ex, Pink Passion, Crisp Caramel, Mystic Mauve and Very Vampire!

~ Read on to find what I think about each of these shades ~

1. Fire Your Ex

IMG_2531 IMG_2851 IMG_2855

Fire Your Ex… this has to be one of the most badass named lipsticks ever! Fire Your Ex is a creamy bright tomato red lipstick and one of the most comfortable wearing red lipsticks that I have ever tried.

The lipstick is really easy to apply, usually I prefer using a lip brush when I am applying a really pigmented lipstick to get better application, but I applied this lipstick directly from the lipstick bullet and it did not tug on my at all! It glided effortlessly!

My Rating ~ 4/5

2. Pink Passion

IMG_2534 IMG_2824 IMG_2828

Pink Passion is another one of my favorite lipsticks from the bunch! It is a really pretty orchid pink-y color!

This is a beautiful pink shade which needs 2-3 swipes for the true color to pay off but when it does it looks really pretty and flattering!

Many even say that it is a close dupe for MAC Flat Out Fabulous, but since I haven’t tried the Mac lipstick I cannot weigh in on that.

It is a really cream lipstick, it applies really easily on the lips and does not dry out my lips!

Only Con of this lipstick is that it starts to bleed after 2-3 hours.

My Rating ~ 3.5/5

3. Crisp Caramel

IMG_2537 IMG_2836 IMG_2843

Crisp Caramel is a really pretty nude with coral undertones. Crisp Caramel has quickly become my go to nude lipstick! I don’t know how that happened but over the past few weeks I find myself constantly reaching for it.

This lipstick needs 2-3 swipes to show on my lips but after that it stays on comfortably for 4-5 hours.

My Rating ~ 4/5

4. Mystic Mauve

IMG_2542 IMG_2866 IMG_2873

Mystic Mauve is a true mauve lipstick. Unfortunately, this was one of my least favorite lipstick from the bunch!

When the SA had swatched this lipstick on m hand I had been really excited and I bought it on a whim but as soon as i applied this on my lips… it looked flat. I looked flat! With a name like ‘Mystic Mauve’ I expected something “mystical” to happen!

But alas! Long story short this lipstick lacks pigmentation and makes me look washed out when I wear it!

My Rating ~ 2/5

5. Very Vampire

IMG_2545 IMG_2883 IMG_2891

Very Vampire, another name that I am a fan of! Very Vampire is really similar to Fire Your Ex but between the two I feel that Fire You Ex is a little more pigmented and vibrant.

Very Vampire is a really nice affordable red lipstick and is great for people who want to try a red lipstick but not go the whole way!

Very Vampire is a great ‘safe red’ for beginners.

My Rating ~ 3/5

I think the Street Wear Color Rich Lipsticks are really pretty and affordable lipsticks with great packaging to boot!

Sure, there are some hits and misses but overall these lipsticks are bang for the buck!

I am looking forward to trying some more shade like Riveting Rouge, Pink Pirouette and Pink Persuasion when I get my hands on them!

That’s it for now!

As always send me some love!
