How To Guide : Dark Lips!

Hello My Lovelies!

Today I am going to show you how you can rock a dark rich lip colour this fall!

Fall is the perfect time of the year to experiment with darker lipsticks, so don’t shy away from dark lipsticks and hop on and enjoy the ride!

(The lipstick that I’ll be using in this tutorial is Maybelline Superstay 14 hour lipstick in shade Wine and Forever )

STEP 1

Start with clean lips.

STEP 2

There are two ways through which you can apply a dark lipstick.

First Way

Rub your finger over your lipstick and get a decent amount of lipstick on your finger.

Take your finger and apply the colour directly on your lips.

You can apply more colour on your lips as you progress with this method.

Applying a dark lipstick with your finger gives you more control with regard to the level of pigmentation you want to achieve from the lipstick.

Second Way

Take your lipstick and first apply it on your lower lip.

After that gently mash your lower lip with your upper lip and transfer some colour on your upper lip. Then lightly adjust the colour on your lower lip with your finger.

Lastly, apply a final swipe of lipstick!

How To Guide : Red Lips!

Hello My Lovelies!

In today’s tutorial I am going to tell you how you can achieve the perfect red lips in a few easy steps. Ok? So… first things first a couple of pointers.

1. A red lipstick is the most classic lip shade and an instant makeup boost that you can have, so I suggest that you invest in a good one (The lipstick that I used in this tutorial was Ruby Woo by M.A.C. )

2. While applying red lipstick always use a lipstick brush for a smooth and even finish.

Now that is done, lets get on with the tutorial.  Shall we? Lets go!

For applying the perfect red lipstick you will require:-

1. Any red lipstick of your choice

2. A lipstick brush

3. Lip liner in the same shade as your red lipstick (optional )

4. Tissues (for blotting and for wiping your face when you get lipstick all over it)

STEP 1

For this step you can use a lip liner or you can swirl your lip brush on the lipstick and get the lipstick on it.

I used the lip brush and got a decent amount of lipstick on it and then I proceeded to draw a cross at the bow of my lip.

STEP 2

For the next step, outline the corners of your lip and then outline the lower line of the lip right in the center.

STEP 3

Next fill in your lips with the help of the lip brush with the lip colour

STEP 4

Lastly, take the lipstick and directly apply it over the lipstick that you filled in with the lip brush.

Beauty Haul-Part 1: Product Review

Hello My Lovelies! I recently went to Shoppers’ Stop and as soon as I entered the store I just started browsing my way through counter-to-counter from Lakmé to Loréal, just looking at the pretty-pretty makeup each brand had to offer. I was like a little kid in a candy store!

I had done a little beauty haul and to my horror all my money was gone after the haul! Going…going…gone!

Anyway lets take a look at all the makeup that made my money disappear ;)Ready? Lets Go!

1. Loréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Foundation (Cost= Rs.975 or $15.573 )

There was basically a coin toss between the Loréal True Match foundation and the Revlon Colorstay foundation.

What I didn’t like about the Colorstay foundation was that its packaging was poor ( it was in a jar ) and it was really liquid-y.Therefore, Loréal Paris True Match won the round with its superiore packaging and less liquid-y formula.

What the Loréal Paris True Match Super Blendable Foundation promises?

Super-blendable perfect coverage without caking .

True-to-skin shades without tide marks

A beautiful, flawless-looking complexion…your skin only better.

What I think about it?

1. It really is super-blendable, blending this foundation into your face is effortless and the blending power if the foundation if flawless!

2. Loréal Paris True Match Foundation has a shade for everybody be it fair, dark, beige… everyone!

3.The end result is not the ” flawless looking complexion” ( atleast in my case ) but it does give you a darn good feeling of ” your skin only better “.

My Rating: 4/5.

2. Maybelline New York Clear Glow All in One Compact Powder (Cost-Rs.185 or $2.955)

Let me just say this that this is one of the most cheapest and prettiest compact powders that I have ever bought! When the salesperson told me that the compact was for Rs. 185 ($ 2.95) I was like ” say what?! ” and I knew I had to buy it!

What the Maybelline Clear Glow All in One Compact Powder promises?

1. Instant Fairness

2. UV Protection

3. Smooth, even skin

4. Shine Control

What I think about it?

1. Instant Fairness-Check!

2. UV Protection-Check!

3. Smooth, even skin-Check!

4. Shine Control-Check!

All I can say about this product is that it is a steal at the price it is offered and it works superbly

My Rating: 5/5

3. Revlon Photo Ready Concealer (Cost: Rs700 or $15.11)

This was the one product I really regret buying… I don’t like it. The skin around my eye broke out because of this.

And the coverage for dark circles under eye is bleh! to say the least.

In a nutshell… I wouldn’t buy this product again

My Rating: 2/5

That’s it for part 1 of the beauty haul. Part two of this beauty haul will be posted soon. Till then follow like and comment as usual.
