MANI MONDAY~ Cross My Heart !

Hello My Lovelies!

It’s Mani Monday!!!

And for this edition of “Mani Monday” I decided to do a really simple but big statement making nail art with just one nail paint and a black permanent marker (topcoat, optional).

Here’s what I did!

I applied  2 coats of Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish in “Porcelain Party” and I let it dry, and then I took my Black permanent marker and drew giant crosses (or big + signs, however you look at it) on them. That’s it! Your statement making nail art is done!

You can stop here or if you really wanna seal in the nail art you can apply topcoat, but it is totally optional!

Mani Monday~Pink-fest!

Its Mani Monday!

Recently I was in the mood for something pink on my nails, but I wanted to wear a subtle pinky colour, somehow when I wear a shade of neon/bright pink nail polish on my nails, I just end up looking like a lame-cool girl who is trying too hard to be “ghetto-fabulous!”  

Anyhoo, I got struck with some inspiration and decided to do this nail art with Pale Pink nail polishes!

Here’s what I used to do this nail art :-

1. Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish in Constant Candy

2. A sheer almost transparent muted pink nail polish

3. Tape

4. Topcoat

STEP 1.

I took some tape and stuck it on the palm of my hand for 5 mins then I applied it in a slant on the tops of my nail.

STEP 2.

Once I had the tape in place I applied the Maybelline Color Show nail polish in Constant Candy on my nails.

STEP 3.

Once I had made sure that the nail polish had dried, I carefully removed the tape from my nails. I was left with a perfect slant application of Maybelline Color Show nail polish in Constant Candy.

STEP 4.

I applied the sheer almost transparent muted pink nail polish on the tops of my nail from where I had just removed the tape, being carefully as to not overlap this nail polish over the Maybelline one.

STEP 5.

Finally, I finished the nail art by applying Top Coat to seal everything in!

Voila!

Mani Monday: Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish Part 2!

Hello My Lovelies!

I am back with PART 2 of the Maybelline Color Show Nail Polishes!

This time I’m here with shades Fantasea Green, Ladies Night, Bold Gold, Downtown Red and Blackout!

FANTASEA GREEN

I love this colour! This doesn’t look like a traditional ” pretty colour ” but once you’ve applied this on your nails it looks smashing!

It’s really hard to come across shades of green nail polishes that are true to colour and at the same time not too garish or neon-y and Fantasea Green delivers on all accounts!

LADIES’ NIGHT!

Just having this shade on my nails makes me crave for a Ladies’ Night out dancing! This is such a rich and fun colour! It looks regal and fun! When has that ever happened?! 😛

BOLD GOLD!

I am in love with this colour! Seriously! This has to be one of my favourite nail polish from this collection! You see the photos above, well I got that shade on my nails with just one coat of the nail polish! One coat was all it took for nail polish to go fully opaque!

Honestly, I am blown over by the opaque-ness of the shade and the quality of the nail polish, this is seriously the best affordable gold nail polish you will find in the market!

DOWNTOWN RED

I’ll be honest this shade was a tad bit of a let down for me. I chose this over the shade ” Keep Up The Flame ” and as soon as I had this shade on my nails I immediately wished I had chosen ” Keep Up The Flame! ”

It’s not really that bad, but I know that I am definitely buying ” Keep Up The Flame “!

Downtown Red does not go fully opaque and it kind makes my hands look a bit old !

BLACKOUT!

Blackout is an awesome black nail polish! I remember when I had just entered my teens I used to religiously wear black nail polish to seem cool! But, I quickly grew out of that stage and never really went back to black nail polishes after that. Until now! I love this black nail polish, it reminds me of my early teen years, only now I don’t have chipped, stubby nails (thank god!)

FINAL THOUGHTS!

The Maybelline Color Show Nail Polishes are really pigmented, affordable, bang for your buck nail polishes!

And at Rs. 75 a pop they offer a wide selection of 40 nail paints making sure that there is something for everyone.

My Rating ~ 4/5 !

Do try them! They won’t disappoint 😉

Mani Monday: Maybelline Color Show Nail Polishes Part 1

Hello My Lovelies!

I was recently browsing through the products at the Maybelline cosmetics counter when I came across the Maybelline Color Show Nail Polishes !

I couldn’t believe that I had not come across them before…. or a more plausible explanation, that I did come across them before… didn’t think much of them, hence didn’t give them a try until I saw Youtubers raving about them!

So, I checked them out at the Maybelline counter decided that they looked nice and asked the SA if I could try them on my nail. But, to my absolute surprise, the SA told me that testers for the Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish were unavailable, in fact they don’t even make testers for the Maybelline Color Show Nail Polishes!

Well, color me surprised! Because I thought that if as a consumer I want to purchase some kind of cosmetic then at least I should be able to test it out at the store!

But, anyway since the Maybelline Color Show Nail Polishes were dirt cheap ( they retailed for only Rs. 75 ! I know! ) so i thought ki risk lena toh banta hai!

So, I picked up 10 nail polishes!

Out of the ten I would be showing you guys 5 today and the other 5 in a later post!

PORCELAIN PARTY

This is by far the best white affordable nail polish that I have ever tried! It goes fully opaque in 2 coats and looks super chic on the nails! PLUS how awesome is the name ” Porcelain Party? ”

BLACKCURRANT POP!

The moment I saw this shade I knew that I had to have it and when I read the name it just cinched the deal for me! How cool is “Blackcurrant Pop!”

This is a lovely lavender-purple shade that looked super gorgeous when I applied 2 coats of it!

KISS-ME-PINK

Again a cutie name with ” Kiss Me Pink ” , this shade is a kinda bright neon-ish pink which looks nice, but be careful which clothes you wear it with, ’cause this has a tendency to look a bit garish with some outfits!

MIDNIGHT TAUPE

When I brought this shade a showed it to my friend, she was a bit skeptical about it ’cause it didn’t look so appealing in the bottle but once I applied this on my fingers she couldn’t wait to get her hands on it and try it herself!

This is a lovely taupe shade which looks a lot lighter when I only applied a coat of it on my fingers but when I applied another coat it looked completely opaque and super hot!

CONSTANT CANDY!

This is such a yummy sounding shade ‘Constant Candy!’ From a far it may look kinda white but this is a really, really pale baby pink colour that looks super neat!
